In 1956 under the leadership ofHaji SA Jiffri, PI Kunjahammad Kutty Haji, Haji PP Hassan Koya, C.P Kunhammad, S Imbichi Koya Haji, Haji K Hassan Koya, and Dr.
M.K Muhammad Koya, constituted an organisation named Kozhikode Educational Society.
The focus was the empowerment of Girls through education. This thought culminates the establishment of Calicut Girls’ High School at Kundungal.
The school was opened on 4th August 1958 with strength of 26. Ever since then it has been growing to become one of the most populated in Kerala.
Vocational Higher Secondary School was started in the year 1992.
It aims to facilitate quality education and practical training to students in Medical Laboratory Technology and Biomedical Equipment Technology.
120 students are undergoing MLT and BET courses. Higher secondary School commenced in the year 2000.
650 students are undergoing in Humanities, Science, Commerce, and Computer Science batches.
The total students’ strength of the school is 2700. At present there are 120 teachers and 10 non-teaching staff in the school.
Most of the students of our school belong to the backward coastal area of Calicut city.
School which began with the objective of the education of Girls has now become a symbol of pride for the entire locality.
Well begun is half done, but the successors of the committee were not satisfied with the quantity.
The present management committee under the leadership of the Dr Ali Faisal and Manager P.S Assankoyanow it for the quality of education.
Their determination and dedication resulted in making Calicut Girls Vocational and Higher Secondary School the first and the only NABET accredited school in government and aided sector in Kerala.
It’s nothing but making a long-cherished dream of the founders of the school into reality. Higher Secondary Principal Mr. Abdu M, Headmistress Mrs. M.K Zainaba,
VHSE Principal Mrs. Sreedevi P.M, and the PTA presidents Mr. A.T Nasar are focused to equip the institution to face the future challenges.
